How did sumerians view the afterlife?

They did not believe there was a place like heaven, but they believed that all souls go to an underworld where they live in misery. And the only way to escape misery was to be born dead. Hope this helped! :3

The sumerians believed the afterlife was a miserable and dark grey existence with all their ancestors, and believed that all humans go to the same place when they die.
