Hey there!

Firstly,
simplify both sides of your equation

  • (1)/(8)n+ (-3)
    =-11

  • (1)/(8)n -3
    =-11

Second,
add by the number
3 on each of your sides

  • (1)/(8)n - 3
    +3
  • Cancel:
-3 +3 because it gives you the result of
    0
  • Keep:
-11+3 because it has the number we need to solve for the answer

  • -11 + 3 =
    -8

  • (1)/(8)n = -8

Third,
multiply by the number
8 on each of your sides

  • 8((1)/(8)n)
    = 8(-8)
  • Cancel:
8((1)/(8)) because it doesn't give you what you're looking for
  • Keep:
8(-8) because it gives you your answer

  • 8(-8)= -64

Answer↓

  • \boxed{n = -64}

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!
