Solution:

As given , g(x)= f(x) + k --------(1)

As also given : f(x) =
(1)/(3)(x+2)

g(x) =
(1)/(3)(x+5)

Putting the value of f(x) and g(x) in equation (1).


(1)/(3)(x+5) =
(1)/(3)(x+2) + k


(1)/(3)[x+5-x-2]= k

→ k =
(1)/(3) * 3=1

So , the value of k is 1.
