Which best explains how the setting of The Jungle Book contributes to the theme?

The setting is the jungle and the village; Mowgli has trouble fitting in in both places.

The setting is the jungle; the rules in the jungle do not benefit any of the animals.

The setting is colonial India; the rules in colonial India are harsh on outsiders like Shere Khan.

The setting is the village; the rules in the village are hard on Buldeo.

With the theme being the rules of society do not always benefit the needs of an individual the setting for this would be when Shear Khan is trying to kill Mogli in the jungle. I hope this helps.
