(2)/(x)=(x)/(18) Cross multiply (multiply 18 on both sides to get rid of the 18 in the denominator, and multiply "x" on both sides to get rid of the x in the denominator

(18)(2)/(x)= (x)/(18)(18)

(36)/(x)=x

(x)(36)/(x)=x(x)

36 = x² Square root both sides to get rid of the ², and to get "x" by itself

√36 = √x²

±6 = x Your answer is 6

You could have just done this too:

(2)/(x)=(x)/(18)

2(18) = x(x)

36 = x²

√36 = √x²

±6 = x
