Hi everyone. I have a question...can someone plz tell me what a central thesis is. When I say that I mean like for a persuasive essay. I will give out 12 points for whoever gives me the CORRECT answer. So look the answer up.

"A thesis is the central claim or main argument of an essay. Because it provides a unifying theme for the rest of the essay, it typically appears early on—in shorter papers, most often within the first paragraph or two. The thesis should be analytic or interpretive rather than merely descriptive or factual."

A central thesis is the "main argument the essay is trying to say".

For example, inside the essay on war, your thesis should include the 3 (more or less) claims that you are going to talk about, such as "The art of War", "History of War", "Outcomes of war", in which you would talk about the 3 topics and not only explain but give explanation of this, and give a conclusion of how this affects not only our history, but our world even today. The thesis statement must encompass all that you would talk about.
