RESPONSE: There are 7 articles in the U.S. Constitution.

Article 1 - The Legislative Branch

- makes laws

- split into 2 different chambers (House of Representatives & The Senate)

- can draft/pass legislation

- can borrow money for the nation

- can declare war & raise a military

Article 2 - The Executive Branch

- manages day-to-day operations of government

- can make treaties w/ other nations

- can appoint federal judges, department heads, & ambassadors

- determines how to best run the country

- runs military operations

Article 3 - The Judicial Branch

- outlines the power of the federal court system

- all judges are appointed for life [unless they resign due to bad behavior and/or retire]

Article 4 - The States

- defines the relationship between the states & government

- protects the nation

- suggests all states are equal & should respect each other

Article 5 - Amendment

- says the future generations can change the constitution if needed

Article 6 - Debts, Supremacy, & Oaths

- determines that the US constitution and all laws made from it are "supreme Law of the Land"

- states all officials must swear oath to the constitution

Article 7 - Ratification

- details everyone who signed the Constitution
