Sam is going to the store to buy pumpkins. Small pumpkins cost $2.50 and large pumpkins cost $6.00. He needs to buy at least 20 pumpkins, and he can spend no more than $90.

Sam could buy 11 large pumpkins and 9 small pumpkins. He will only have 1.50 left over.

11 * 6.00 = 66.00 \: price \: for \: large \\ 9 * 2.50 = 22.50 \: price \: for \: small \\ 66.00 + 22.50 = 88.50 \: total \: price \\ 90.00 - 88.50 = 1.50 \: left \: over

Sam should buy the small pumpkins. If he were to buy 20, he would have only paid $50 which means he can buy more if he needs to.
