Explanation:

original cost - discount = discounted price

discount = original cost * .2

original cost - original cost *.2 = 100

Factor out the original cost

original cost ( 1-.2) = 100

original cost *.8 = 100

Divide each side by .8

original cost *.8/.8 = 100/.8

original cost = 125
