Hello there!

Parallel lines have the same slope. So if the slope of the line is
\bf{y=2x-4}, which it is, then the slope of the line that's parallel to that line is also
\bf{2}.

Now, we can plug that into the Point-Slope Formula:


  • \implies\bf{y-y_1=m(x-x_1)}

  • \implies\bf{y-1=2(x-1)}

  • \implies\bf{y-1=2x-1}

  • \implies\bf{y=2x}

Therefore, the equation is
