Large numbers of loyalists moved to cities in the south in the years 1779 through 1780 because many of them who stood there in the northern states, had their interests taken away from the declaration of independence which was slave to be freed from their enslavement. That caused them to bring their interests to the south and forget all about the north. In the future that brought up the rise of the confederates. "No slaves means no trade"
