In general which is the cause of a land breeze

Over the water, high surface pressure will form because of the colder air. To compensate, the air will sink over the ocean. The wind will blow from the higher pressure over the water to lower pressure over the land causing the sea breeze.

During the night time, when the temperature remains relatively low, then the land areas release heat more readily compared to the ocean. The oceans take more time to get heated up as well as to lose heat. When the temperature of the land area drops down then there prevails the cold denser air that blows towards the ocean and replaces the warm and less dense air over the ocean. This movement of cold and dense air from the land areas to the ocean is called the land breeze.
