How is DNA similar to a recipe? What happens if a recipe is changed slightly?

DNA is similar to a recipe because the recipe makes up what something is. If you change something in the recipe, it changes what the dish will turn out to be. For instance, if you had chocolate chip cookies, and you took out the chocolate chips, it would just be a sugar cookie; making is a sugar cookie recipe. That said, if you changed something in DNA, it would change you, or a whole species.
