We can solve by factoring. We will factor by GCF the greatest common factor.
8x^2 and
6x share several factors in common:

  • they both share an x
  • they both share 2

I pull out 2x and I get
2x(4x+3)=0. I now set each factor equal to 0 and solve for x.

2x=0

x=0


4x+3=0

4x=-3

x=-3/4
