George Childress drafted the declaration of independence.
The convention was convened on March 1st while the current president was Richard Ellis. The delegates had selected a committee of 5 to draft the declaration of independence; the committee was directed by George Childress, he also included other people such as Bailey Hardeman, Edward Conrad, Collin McKinney James Gaines.
