Answer: x + 8 must be the factor of the given polynomial p(x).

Explanation:

Here, p(x) is a polynomial in which p(-8) =0

By the reminder theorem,

When a polynomial, f(x), is divided by a linear polynomial , x - a, the remainder of that division will be equivalent to f(a).

That is when we divide p(x) by x+8 the reminder is p(-8)

⇒ when we divide p(x) by x+8 the reminder is 0.

Therefore, x+8 is a factor of p(x).
