PLEASE ANSWER ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is 5 + 3(1 - x) equivalent to 8 - 8x? EXPLAIN and show your work.

in the order of operations or PEMDAS you do parentheses first, however you have an unknown value in there so hold off on that, the next in this equation is multiplying, 3•(1-x) or 3-(3x), the final part you have left is 5+3-(3x) 5+3=8 so No it does not, it equals 8 - 3x! hope this helps!!
