The main reason we can denote is the possibility of teaching moral lessons and also provide a popular method for forwarding traditional knowledge from one generation to the next. Fables are often set in the animal kingdom and via attributing human characteristics to animals, they can entertain and instruct how to make wise decisions in life.

Greeks are frequently credited for the widespread of a popular fable format associated with the name of Aesop (A possible fictional character created to name a group of traditional storytellers).

Most ancient Greek fables, in modern times, are still used in children`s book and also adapted to modern adult literature.
