Simon Bolivar was a Venezuelan general and politician, also known as 'The Liberator' as he led much of Latin America to freedom from Spain in the early 1800's.

The countries where he influenced his armies and potencially helped them to break free were 6: Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panamá, Perú and Venezuela.

That being said, Panamá as a country didn't really become independant until 1903. Also, both Ecuador and Perú, even though they were helped by the Bolivarian army, they were commanded by Antonio José de Sucre and Jose de San Martín, respectively.
