15 tables at Mario's Italian Restaurant are reserved. If the number of available tables is 10 more than the number of reserved tables, then what is the ratio of the number of available tables to the number of reserved tables?

Answer:

5:3

Explanation:

(15 reserved tables + 10 = 25 available tables ) because the number of available tables is 10 more than reserved

The ratio of available to reserved tables is 25:15, which can be simplified to 5:3

Answer: 5:3

Explanation:

We know the number of reserved tables is 15.

We know the number of available tables is 10 more than that, so it's 25.

That means the ratio of available tables to reserved tables is 25:15, which can be reduced by finding a GCD, or Greatest Common Denominator. 5 is the largest number that can go into BOTH so just divide both sides by 5 to reduce.

(25÷5):(15÷5)

5:3

Hope that helps!!
