*30 POINTS* In a group of 53 children, 22 had a dog, 18 had a cat, and 6 had both a dog and a cat. How many children had neither a dog nor a cat as a pet?

I've been stuck on this for idk how long. Keep note that this question might be a typo, I'll update this later just in case it is.

22+18+6=46
53-46=8
Therefore 8 students did not have a dog or a cat as a pet

Although I don’t see that answer, with 53 children and 22 having a dog, 18 a cat, and 6 with both, you would think to subtract all three of those numbers with 53 to get the remaining with no dogs or cats, which results to 7
