He was mostly protesting about marching because that was his way of his voice getting heard.

This speech was given to motivate people involved in the Montgomery Bus Boycott of the mid-1950s. This peaceful economic demonstration was enormously successful, resulting in not only the end of discrimination in the cities busses but also in putting King into the national spotlight!!
