Greetings!

Answer:

x = 1 and y= -1

Explanation:

Firstly, uoi need to make sure one value in front of either both y's or both x's are the same. Lets make the two x's the same.

Multiply the first simultaneous equation by -2:

-2x - 2y = 0

2x - 3y = 5

Add the two:

-2x + 2x = 0

-2y + -3y = -5y

0 + 5 = 5

5y = -5

So y = -1

Substitute all values of y with -1 in the second equation:

2x - 3(-1) = 5

2x - -3 = 5

2x + 3 = 5

2x = 5 - 3

2x = 2

x = 1

So x = 1 and y= -1

Hope this helps!
