Positive influences: There was religious tolerance. There was a political alliance between the Russian Knights and the Mongols to defeat the Teutonic enemy in common. Russia was closer to Western Europe than before and there were reforms and social, political, technological and economic innovations. Russia improved its military organization, its fiscal system, its census, and its postal and road network as a result of this period.
Negative influences: High mortality and population decline during wars and invasions. During all the invasive hordes that occurred mainly in the border areas, all kinds of abuse occurred to the population. The legislative system intensified with death sentences, long imprisonment, and torture that did not exist before.
Tsarist Government of Russia
Positive influences: There was a hotbed of middle-class intellectual leaders who, as a result of the prevailing social discontent, developed an important intellectual production that influenced not only Russia but the rest of Europe with their thinking.
Negative influences: The social classes were very stratified. Industrialization took a long time to arrive and was very backward in relation to Europe. Economically depended on foreign capital and the state since there was no private action due to the weakness of the bourgeoisie. The taxes were very high and fell on the peasantry. Human rights were continuously violated by a highly repressive police network.
