y = -3x-8

Explanation:

y = 1/3x +2

slope is 1/3

parallel is the negative reciprocal

m = -3

point slope form

y-y1 = m(x-x1)

y--2 = -3 (x--2)

y+2 = -3(x+2)

distribute

y+2 = -3x-6

subtract 2 from each side

y = -3x-6-2

y = -3x-8
