Baseball is nowadays one of the greatest American sports, but its real story dates back to the 18th century. Baseball didn't begin in America, it started when English colonists brought with them a game played by children called rounders and a game called cricket.
Many variations of these two games spread throughout colleges and schools in the United States, and in the year 1845 a man called Alexander Joy Cartwright created the basic rules for what would be later called baseball.
This new game separated itself from cricket and with the passing of the years it became the famous and popular game we nowadays call BASEBALL.
