Please help ASAP!

Given sin(−θ)=1/5 and tanθ=6√/12

What is the value of cosθ ?
A). 6/√60
B). −26/√5
C). −6/√60
D). 26/√5

First, recall that


\sin(-\theta)=-\sin\theta

So if
\sin(-\theta)=\frac15, then
\sin\theta=-\frac15.

Second,


\tan\theta=(\sin\theta)/(\cos\theta)

We know that
\tan\theta>0 and
\sin\theta<0, which means we should also have
\cos\theta<0.

Third,


\sin^2\theta+\cos^2\theta=1\implies\cos\theta=\pm√(1-\sin^2\theta)

but as we've already shown, we need to have
\cos\theta<0, so we pick the negative root.

Finally,


\tan\theta=(\sin\theta)/(\cos\theta)\iff\frac6{√(12)}=(-\frac15)/(\cos\theta)\implies\cos\theta=-\frac1{5\sqrt3}
