Answer:

The solutions for the system of equation.

when x = 2 than y = -4

when x = -4 than y = 8

Explanation:

As given the system of equation

y = -2x

y = x²-8

Put y = -2x in the equation y = x²-8 .

-2x = x²-8

x² + 2x - 8 = 0

x² + 4x - 2x - 8 = 0

x (x + 4) -2 (x + 4) = 0

(x + 4)(x - 2) = 0

x = 2 , -4

Put x = 2 in the equation y = -2x

y = -2 × 2

y = -4

Put x = -4 in the equation y = -2x

y = -2 × -4

y = 8

Therefore when x = 2 than y = -4 and when x = -4 than y = 8 .
