The USA has a moral responsibility to help other countries, especially those that have been ravaged by political plots carried out by the USA to overthrow democratically elected governments and install complacent, though dictatorial, regimes that favor USA´s interests. The Monroe doctrine —America for the Americans— that the USA adopted early on in its history was spread all over the globe after WWII, when the UK lost its transcendence as a political and economic global agent, ceding its place to the rising power that represented the United States at that time.

The insecurity, fear, terror and economic hardships in countries and their peoples all around the world that the USA has systematically spread goes against Jesus´ own commandment, “this is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you” (John 15:12), but it also goes against the spirit of the Old Testament, where it is stated that “whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered” (Proverbs 21:13).

So in closing, the USA certainly has a moral obligation to help other countries, especially since their hardships were brought upon them by the USA in their pursuit of their own interests; but perhaps it is not too late for the USA to change their politics and relate to the world as the bible would recommend it.
