The 21st Amendment repealed the 18th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which commanded nationwide Prohibition on alcohol on January 16, 1919. The Twenty-first Amendment was ratified on December 5, 1933!

The 21st amendment repelled the 18th amendment, which mandated a nation wide prohibition of alcohol. The 21st amendment repeals the 18th amendment in 1933. The 18th amendment banned the sale and drinkings of alcohol. But when the 21st amendment came into play, the 18th amendment repelled big time.
