Distribute sum groups

x(x^2 - 7x + 4) + 2(x^2 - 7x + 4)

Distribute

x^3 - 7x^2 + 4x + 2(x^2 - 7x + 4)

Distribute

x^3 - 7x^2 + 4x + 2x^2 - 14x + 8

Collect like terms

x^3 + (-7x^2 + 2x^2) + (4x - 14x) + 8

Simplify

x^2 - 5x^2 - 10x + 8

Answer: A. x^2 - 5x^2 - 10x + 8

Answer:

A

Explanation:

multiply each of the terms in the second factor by each of the terms in the first factor, that is

x(x² - 7x + 4 ) + 2(x² - 7x + 4 ) ← distribute both

= x³ - 7x² + 4x + 2x² - 14x + 8 ← collect like terms

= x³ - 5x² - 10x + 8 → A
