The correct answer is C) Because of low pay, many men only enlisted for three months.

An American weakness during the Revolutionary War was low pay, many men only enlisted for three months.

The Continental Army led by General George Washington faced two key problems. The first one was that there was not enough money to pay the troops and to buy weapons. The government had to borrow money even from foreign countries such as France and also created war bonds to finance the war. The other problem was that the Continental troops were poorly prepared to fight the British Army.
