Rosemary and Darwin are discussing how to find the value of −28+45. Rosemary says the value of −28+45=−73. Darwin says the value of −28+45=17.

Darwin is correct because

let's say we draw a line, put -28 in the middle, and then as we know positive if moving forward and negative is going backwards, so in this case it's forward so you forward it 45 times then it'll be 17, if you go backwards it's going to be wrong, because its positive you're supposed to go forward so Darwin is right

even using the calculator you'll have Darwin as the right answer
