Answer: The family has 4 tickets but do not know the price so the price would be x. 4x For each ticket they have a 1.50 processing fee so the equation would be 4 x 1.50 = 6. The overall equation would be 4x + 6 = 38. to find X you have to subtract 6 from 38 and you get 32. Then you divide 32 and 4 and you get 8. so each ticket is worth 8 dollars

There are 4 tickets that cost x dollars each. (4x)

There is a 1.50 dollar purchasing fee for each. (4 x 1.50 = 6)

This means that the left side of the equation would be 4x + 6.
(The price of the tickets plus the purchase fee.)

The right side would be the total cost. (38)

Your equation would be:

4x + 6 = 38
Subtract the six from both sides.

4x = 32
Divide by 4.

x = 8
Each ticket costs 8 dollars.
