The x just gets copied along.
The answer is x
x

2.5*x-1.9 evaluates to 2.5x-1.9
To subtract the polynomials -0.75x+6 and 2.5x-1.9 we try to subtract terms in one polynomialwith any like terms in the other polynomial.
Be very careful with the "-" sign in front of 2.5x-1.9 it is to be used on all terms in it.
-0.75x - 2.5x = -3.25x
6 - -1.9 = 7.9
The answer is -3.25x+7.9
(-0.75*x+6)-(2.5*x-1.9) evaluates to -3.25x+7.9
