Rita hangs a picture frame of width 22 centimeters on the wall. The distance from the nail to the top edge of the picture frame is 8 centimeters. She has 26 centimeters of wire to hang the picture.
(a) Does Rita have enough wire as shown?

Rita does not have enough wire

my teacher even said it was not enough there’d is my eevidence a 55 year old teacher said it was not enough

(b) Length of the wire (26 cm) < Required length (30 cm)

Explanation:

(a) Rita doesn't have enough wire

(b) Distance from nail to the top edge of the picture = 8 cm

Width of the frame = 22 cm

Distance from nail to the top edge of the frame = 8 + 22 = 30 cm.

So, Rita should have a wire of length greater than 30 cm.

But, since Rita has only 26 cm. length of wire, she is not able to hang the picture.
