What inference can be made about why Bilboa does not kill Gollum?



He knows the goblns will get him anyways and he wants it to form a distraction for his escape


He doesn't want to use his sword for the first time on Gollum


He takes pity on Gollum and since Gollum isn't armed, he doesn't think it's a fair fight


He wants to capture him to prove to the dwarves he is useful.
