Balance the following reaction:

A2B + DC3 --> AC + D2B3

Hint: Don't do this in your head. Use a piece of paper and a pencil.

When this reaction is balanced, what number must be to the left of AC? _________________

The balanced reaction is as below

3A2B +2DC36 AC + D2B3

Step-by-step explanation

According to the law of mass conservation the number of atoms in the reactant side must be equal to number of atoms in product side.

putting coefficient 3 in front of A2B, 2 in front DC3 and 6 in front of AC balance the equation , since the number of atoms is equal in both side.

for example we have 3 atoms of A in both reactant and products side.
