Option D i.e Nuclear energy or Nuclear fuel releases the least amount of Carbon dioxide into the air in a year.

Coal is the hazardous substance and produces the largest amount of carbon dioxide in air. Natural gas produces very less carbon dioxide as compared to coal. Nuclear Energy do not produce carbon dioxide but releases radioactive substances.
