The correct answer is limiting alcohol consumption to two drinks weekly

Liver cirrhosis is a late stage fibrosis of the liver which is caused by the many forms of liver diseases and certain conditions such as hepatitis and alcoholism. Everytime a liver is injured it recovers itself but as a result of damage scar tissue is formed which hampers the function of liver. Varices is a medical condition in which the eophageal varices are abnormal and the normal blood flow to liver is blocked because of a scar in the liver.

Hence, the nurse will advice the patient to alcohol consumption.
