Subtract the 5 from both sides leaving you with 4x-2x=6, 2x=6 divide by 2 on each side and you get x=3

Answer:

x = 3

Explanation:

So first you combine 4x and -2x to get 2x. Then you have 2x+5 = 11, so you subtract 5 from both sides to get x alone. After subtracting 5 you should get 2x = 6. To get x you just divide both sides by 2 and that should leave you with x = 3.
