This excerpt expresses the view of the post-Civil War period held by Moderate Re-constructionists. On March 4th, 1965, Abraham Lincoln in post- Civil period advocated for malice towards none and charity for all. He further believed firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right and encourages people to strive and finish the work we are in, bind up the nation's wounds whereby he advocates for all to do all that may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and all the other nations.
