Answer with explanation:

We are asked to simplify the expression that is given each of the four options.

a)

14-7-5

We know that we need to first sum of 7 and 5 since they are the terms with the same sign i.e. negative sign.

Hence, on adding we get
7+5=12

Now we subtract this quantity by 14 to get:

14-12=2

Hence, the answer is : 2

b)

(35-20)-3

Now we first solve the parentheses term.

i.e.

35-20=15

and

15-3=12

Hence, the answer is: 12

c)

45-(23-14)

Now again using the rule of PEMDAS we first solve the parentheses term.

i.e.

23-14=9

and on subtracting this quantity by 45 we get:

45-9=36

Hence, the answer is: 36

d)

56-32-5

We first add 32 and 5 since they are the terms with the same sign.

Hence, we get:

32+5=37

and now on subtracting this term by 56 we get:

56-37=19

Hence, the answer is: 19

Answer:

a. 2

b. 12

c. 36

d. 19

Explanation:

a. 14 – 7 – 5 = 14 - 12 = 2

b. (35 – 20) – 3 = (15) -3 = 15 - 3 = 12

c. 45 – (23 – 14) = 45 - (9) = 45 - 9 = 36

d. 56 – 32 – 5 = 56 - 37 = 19

Hope it helps.

Thank you..!!
