The Supreme Court is granted JURISDICTION for all cases in which states are a party.

The Jurisdiction of the US Supreme Court is defined in Article III, section 2 of the US Constitution. It establishes the judicial branch and invests the Supreme Court with jurisdiction over “cases affecting ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, and those in which a State shall be Party”
