3x/3 = 9/x (Divide both sides by 3)

x = 3

3x + 4 = −13 (Possibility 2)

3x + 4 − 4 = −13−4 (Subtract 4 from both sides)

3x = −17

3x/3 = -17/3 (Divide both sides by 3)

x = -17/3
