Answer:

y=0.5x+4

Use y2-y1/x2-x1 to find the slope:

3-6/-2-4

Sub in the x and y-values into y=0.5x+b

6=0.5(4)+b

Solve and b=4

Answer:

y=(1)/(2)x+4

Explanation:

Terri wrote the equation using slope-intercept form for the line that passes through the points (4, 6) and (–2, 3)

Using the points find out slope

slope = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = (3-6)/(-2-4) =(1)/(2)

m= 1/2 and point (4,6)

Use point slope formula

y-y1=m(x-x1)

y-6= 1/2(x-4)

multiply 1/2 inside the parenthesis

y-6= 1/2x - 2

add 6 on both sides

y=(1)/(2)x+4
