Answer: 9/20

your gonna find what both 4 and 5 multiply into so they both go into 20 so your gonna multiply them. your gonna take 1/4 times 5 top and bottom and then your gonna take 1/5 times 4 top and bottom then your gonna come out with 1*5/4*5+1*4/5*4= 5/20+4/20= 9/20

1st u need to find the greatest common denominator which is 20

1/4 times 5/5 = 5/20

1/5 times 4/4 = 4/20

now u can add them

5+4=9

9/20 is your answer
