Using the point slope formula we have:

y - y1 = m(x - x1)
Add y1 to both sides and we have:

y = m(x - x1) + y1
Now plug in x1,y1 and m (slope) where point A (-7,-2) where x1=-7 and y1=-2 and m=-7 and so:

y = - 7(x - ( - 7)) + ( - 2)
By distributing the slope we have:

y = - 7x - 49 - 2 \\ y = - 7x - 51
And do your slope is -7 and the y- intercept is -51.
