How do you determine if an injured or ill person is conscious

ok here is a trick my mom taught me and i allready knew... it sounds weird but i promise it works. so you will lick the back of your hand andd sit it under there nose to see if there breathing. HOPE THIS HELPS!!!! <3 :)

Ask them if she or he is okay. Then check for signs of life.
