We can create graph of y=-x-3 first

then shade the graph for given inequality.

Comparing y=-x-3 with y=mx+b gives slope m=-1 and y-intercept b=-3

so we graph a point at (0,-3) for y-intercept.

then move the point 1 unit down and 1 unit right to reach point (1,-4)

Now join both points by a solid line because of equal sign of >=

this will give graph of y=-x-3

Now we determine direction of shading using any test point which is not on the line y=-x-3

say (0,0) is test point as it is not on the line y=-x-3

plug the test point into original inequality



y\ge-x-3


0\ge-0-3


0\ge-3

which is true so the direction of shading will be in the direction of test point.
